It was a day of major technical failures not least
our web server failing due a problem overnight!
But undaunted the reporters and support teams
soldiered on. The web server was up and running
with minutes to spare, and what was looking like it
wasn't going to happen finally did. Well done each
and every one involved.
Michael Gove: ICT curriculum is 'a mess' it will be revamped
The education secretary Michael Gove believes the ICT curriculum is of poor standards, promises an interesting, unique new course.
Mrs. Riva Head of Business and ICT at Bideford College gives her views on the statement by Mr.Gove and gives an overview of the changes that are already being implemented and also what is to come in the future in this ever changing part of the curriculum.
With a Year under the belt of the New College building the initial shock of moving from the old worn out school has eased off a little, so we are taking a good look at what we left behind and sing the praises of our New College, with its eco credentials, its fabulous facilities and enthusiastic staff its a good place to be and more importantly to work and learn in.
Our short film gives a glimpse of what has been demolished or left behind to make way for the future. Our Principal Miss. Matthews also answers some questions about the ethos behind the New College which is probably one of the last to built for a very long time. Money well spent? Well we think so and hope you will too.
With their current order book filling up, Babcock International, the owners of Appledore Shipbuilders not far from the college, were keen to answer questions about the success they have acheived to date.
After a recent trip to visit the shipyard which unfortunately couldn't be filmed due the sensitive nature of the military work carried out there, Aidan secured an interview in our studio with Mr Will Bowden head of training at Babcock International and found out what they are working on at the moment and what the future holds for shipbuilding in North Devon.

Science Week has been well under way all week at the college with amazing explosions, demonstrations, experiments and the workings of the human digestive system in GRAPHIC detail. It shows Science can be fun!
